Fantasy Football Week 2 Projections: 3 QBs That Have a Tough Day Ahead of Them

Thankfully for fantasy owners, the quarterback position is generally pretty easy to predict. Unlike wide receivers, and to some degree, running backs, a quarterback doesn't depend on anyone else to get him the ball.

For the most part, the only variables in a quarterback's performance are simply how well he plays and the team he is playing.

Using that information, you should prepare for these three quarterbacks to have tough games.

Matt Ryan- Atlanta Falcons

Ryan is going to be a great fantasy play more often than not this season, but this week, I'd be wary of him.

The Eagles, his week 2 opponent, have one of the better defenses in the league. For starters, it will be tough to complete any passes to whichever wide receiver Nnamdi Asomugha is covering.

The fact that they will be at home on the turf at the Georgia Dome will help, but it won't be enough to overcome that ferocious Eagles' defense.

Rex Grossman- Washington Redskins

I will grant you that Grossman played much better than I expected that he would in the Redskins' week 1 win over the Giants. What I'm not ready to admit, though, is that Grossman is now a viable fantasy quarterback.

His week 2 matchup with the Cardinals is favorable, as the Cardinals gave up 422 yards passing to Cam Newton last week, but he won't be able to take advantage.

Grossman has been nothing in his career if not inconsistent. As we all know, a performance by "Good Rex" is almost always followed up by a performance by "Bad Rex." I'd advise Redskins' fans not to get their hopes up this Sunday because Bad Rex will be taking the field.

Eli Manning- New York Giants

At this point, I think it's fair to say that what you see is going to be what you get with Eli Manning. He is a good, but not great quarterback that you really don't want to have to depend on in fantasy.

His week 1 performance is pretty indicative of what you can expect. He completed 18 of 32 passes for 268 yards. He threw an interception and didn't have a single touchdown.

Week 2 against the Rams won't be any easier. Their defense is loaded with young playmakers that will be eager to bounce back from giving up 31 points to the powerful Eagles' offense.
