Is it time to be worried about Miles Austin?
The Dallas Cowboys star is dealing with a pulled hamstring that is keeping him out of Monday night's game against the Washington Redskins.
Now the question shifts to the long term outlook of his season.
He's been dealing with the injury since the preseason and has re-aggravated it twice already.
The Cowboys are best off letting him rest for the next few week's to ensure he doesn't tear it. The Lions come to town next weekend before Dallas gets their bye week.
That means we won't be seeing Austin in action again until October 16th against the New England Patriots.
It sounds like an eternity for fantasy owners.
It's a tough pill to swallow considering how productive Austin has been in two games this season. He had already racked up 233 yards and four TDs as the leader in points after two weeks.
Yet when considering the ramifications of bringing him back too early...it's better to rest him.
From a fantasy perspective, this is really going to hurt QB Tony Romo. He is already dealing with a punctured lung and a broken rib, now he is stuck throwing the ball to a guy that needed a reality show just to make the team.
His running back Felix Jones is questionable as is his second best receiver Dez Bryant against Washington.
In other words, the Cowboys are nightmare for fantasy owners right now and I wouldn't recommend starting anybody against the Redskins unless you are extremely desperate.
As for Miles, be patient.
He needs the rest now so he can help carry your league over the second half of the season.
LIFE HURTS. THIS INJURY UPDATE BROUGHT TO YOU BY DICKIES.
