They say that championships are won and lost on the waiver wire, but in reality they are just won by smart fantasy owners.
By Week 3 of the NFL football season fantasy sleeper picks may seem obvious, but I urge you to not get complacent with what you have.
There have been a lot of disappointed owners dropping players far too soon, and even a few sleeper picks that have yet to be discovered.
Your bench may even be littered with some of these players.
The key to building a great team is finding the right blend of star power and role players, and then getting them to work together.
The same thing could be said for fantasy football.
The player that busts your matchup open could be on your bench right now, and how much of a shame would that be.
Take a close look and make sure you aren’t missing out on one of these three sleepers:
Cedric Benson, RB, Bengals
Benson is about to face a three-game suspension but the NFL has graciously allowed him to play in this matchup against the 49ers. The Bengals are going to use him until he can’t run anymore. He’s got a few weeks of sitting out coming up, so I expect him to play to his full potential.
Brandon Jacobs, RB, Giants
The Giants are squaring off against a Philadelphia defense that gives up far too many yards on the ground. When New York gets near the red zone I expect Jacobs will do what he does best and score touchdowns.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Titans
The Titans have been incredibly inconsistent and new quarterback Hasselbeck hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire. That being said, he’s going against a horrible defense in Denver and should get some very good support from Chris Johnson who should finally break out.
I think Hasselbeck will have a very good week and is worth the start if you need him.
