In fantasy football, if your quarterback doesn't put up solid points, or at least come close to your opponent, then you can forget about winning your league.
Take it from a guy who's had quarterback struggles the past few years thanks to injuries to either said QB or his prime targets.
When a QB doesn't have solid weapons around him he will struggle to give you points because his team will more than likely rely on the run game.
Here are three quarterbacks that would better serve you if you benched them.
Eli Manning
Manning takes on his division rival the Philadelphia Eagles, who's weak spot is stopping the run. Since the Giants have two good running backs in Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs, expect a heavy dose of the ground and pound, which won't bode well for Manning's numbers.
With his big weapons dropping left and right, Manning will flop this week, at least fantasy wise. He is not a good start this week considering his top targets are a little banged up, the Eagles secondary is great and the Giants will run the ball a lot.
Jay Cutler
Sure, the Green Bay Packers gave up 400 yards in back-to-back games, including to rookie Cam Newton, but because they face their most hated rival in the Bears, their defense will step it up.
Plus, Cutler doesn't have very talented weapons around him as he best receiver is really his running back. The screen plays will only work so much, and the Packers will frustrate Cutler to no ends.
The Bears' offensive line isn't very good, so you know Clay Matthews will be bringing down Cutler more than once. Despite being at home, Cutler isn't a good start this week.
Tony Romo
Because he plays on Monday night, Romo's owners are in a huge pickle this weekend. His status for the game is still up in the air, and while I think he will play because he's a tough QB, nobody really knows if he'll be out there on Monday.
Go the safe route and start someone other than Romo because even if he does play he is very likely to re-injure his ribs. Yes, he played through the pain last week, but the guy has been sleeping in a chair this week, plus it hurts to laugh.
Romo isn't a good start this week because of his ribs, and the fact that he won't produce very well on Monday.
