Chris Cooley is finally healthy, but it looks like Fred Davis has emerged as the new fantasy stud in Washington.
Davis, the former John Mackey award winner, has become a favorite target of Rex Grossman.
Through the first two games he has caught 11 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown and was the featured tight end even with Cooley active last week.
Both tight ends excel down the seam, can really run and catch the football for their size, but Cooley's injury forced Davis into a starting role and he's making the most of it.
He is fourth among all tight ends with those 11 receptions and has been targeted 13 times, second on the team to Santana Moss' 17 targets.
Dallas' secondary is the weak aspect of their defense even with Terrence Newman possibly returning this week.
None of the Cowboys linebackers can consistently run with Davis, and with Dallas looking to shut down Jabar Gaffney and the ever dangerous Moss, Davis could surprisingly have a big day.
Tim Hightower's effectiveness in Washington's first two games could lead to many play-action passes down the middle where Davis should be running.
Vernon Davis was held to only two catches for 18 yards last week, but Dustin Keller had five grabs for 81 yards and a score in the season opener against the Cowboys.
Going up against a solid defensive front, the Redskins could use Davis in the red zone without a bruising running back capable of punching it in from within the five-yard line.
I'd bet he's available in your league, and with the limitless potential Davis has along with the rapport he and Grossman have established this season, he's worth adding to your fantasy roster.
