D.J. Williams, who has been a key member of the Denver Broncos defense since he entered the league in 2004, suffered an elbow injury during the Broncos preseason week three matchup against the Seahawks on Saturday.
The injury happened during the first quarterback while Williams attempted to make a tackle. The linebacker was immediately helped off the field by members of the Broncos medical staff.
Williams has been the Broncos' leading tackler over the past two seasons, amassing 241 tackles over that span.
The early word out of the Broncos camp is that Williams will likely miss 3-4 weeks. That would put Williams' availability for the Broncos regular season opener vs. the Oakland Raiders in serious doubt.
If Williams is indeed out for the Broncos week one game, backup Wesley Woodyard would probably take his place.
