The two biggest players of the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos are going to get off to rocky starts.
Tony Romo hasn?t played a meaningful NFL snap since October and has been doing everything under the sun but football. He was busy trying to win golf tournaments, show up at celebrity events and oh yeah?he got married.
Now after getting all of that out of the way, Romo must shake off the rust quickly. The Cowboys will be looking to get Romo a decent amount of reps and he will likely play the entire first quarter.
Expect his timing with Dez Bryant to be very shaky, and expect him to throw a bunch of screens and intermediate routes. His completion percentage will be high but his yardage will be minimal as he gets used to the Jason Garrett era.
But Romo is a proven commodity?unlike Tim Tebow.
Tebow enters tonight?s contest with immense pressure that have set him up to fail. The top story of the first week of preseason action zero?s in on Tebow and the whole world will be watching.
His five-step drops and throwing mechanics are still at a rookie level and it will be interesting to see how improved it has become in such a short period of time.
Odds are the Cowboys will blitz Tebow to death and force him to make snap judgments. That means lots of incompletes and turnovers. Expect it to be brutal and expect Bronco nation to be in uproar.
Tonight?s game is going to be entertaining for all of the wrong reasons.
