College football has been battling all sorts of scandals over the last three years. It started with USC and Reggie Bush. Then came Cam Newton and Auburn and Ohio State with Jim Tressel and Terrelle Pryor.
It makes you wonder how much actual teaching goes on at these Universities and who is able to coast through because of who they are and the money they are able to generate for their respective program.
Jordan Jefferson, quarterback at LSU, could use another lesson on the difference between American Presidents and 1970s television characters.
During an appearance on SportsCenter, Jefferson was doing an interview with anchor Bram Weinstein. At the end of the segment, they decided to play a game that I am calling "Know your Jeffersons," but that the network called "Name that Jefferson."
When a picture flashed on the screen of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, the quarterback said that it was George Jefferson, star of the hit sitcom The Jeffersons.
I don't know about you, but I often get those two confused.
I am willing to give Jefferson a little bit of a pass because this was on live television and when I heard the name of the game I immediately thought of characters from the show.
Still, though, it makes you wonder what goes through Jefferson's mind when a big 300-pound SEC defensive lineman is running him down.
