2011 NBA Draft Sees Hidden Gems Snapped Up In Round 2
With some surprising picks early in the draft, there was more talent available late than many had expected. Among the players who will shine after falling into the second round are these:
Shelvin Mack, Washington Wizards: Mack is a scorer with NBA three-point range, but he can also play defense. He?ll be able to back up John Wall at the point or play shooting guard as needed.
Tyler Honeycutt, Sacramento Kings: Honeycutt is a tremendous athlete who could contend for the starting job at SF. Along with trade acquisition John Salmons, Honeycutt will help the Kings? defense get a lot stronger (even if it suffers some with the addition of Jimmer Fredette).
Josh Selby, Memphis Grizzlies: After getting some first-round buzz, Selby slides all the way to No. 49, where he provides yet another weapon for the dangerous Grizzlies bench. He?s a fine athlete who will rack up assists in the balanced Memphis offense.
E?Twaun Moore, Boston Celtics: At 6?4?, Moore is smallish for a shooting guard, but he?s a fierce competitor who can back up either guard position. Boston will love his aggressive, physical defense.
