Roddy White Accuses Atlanta Man of Holding Jerseys Hostage
Sometimes, a news story comes along that's so ridiculous, so outlandish, so downright strange that no matter how much we wish we had, we just can't make it up.
This is one of those stories.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver filed charges against an Atlanta man who he claims is holding three of his jerseys hostage.
According to Pro Football Talk, White claims he gave the man three of his jerseys to frame, at a cost of $400. But, when White went back to pick up the now-framed jerseys, the man allegedly refused to give them to him, unless he paid him $10,000.
Needless to say, White promptly headed to the police station to file charges against this mental marvel, and a hearing is scheduled for later to determine whether an arrest is necessary.

Seriously, in what universe is it a good idea to try to bilk Roddy White out of $10,000 for three jerseys? You know, the things he wears every Sunday, and probably has dozens of.
We don't know whether the jerseys had special significance for the veteran wideout, but if they were just jerseys he wanted to frame, it's not like he can't get more of them. If they did have sentimental value, did the guy not think Roddy would press charges for trying to get 25 times what the agreed price was?
Just for the sake of humanity, let's hope the judge decides to arrest this guy and throw the book at him, if for nothing else than being the dumber than your average box of rocks (actually, that's offensive to boxes of rocks).
Like I said, I really wish I was making this one up, but unfortunately, I'm not.
