Wofford Terries Have Blueprint to Beat Down Jimmer Fredette?s BYU Cougars

Jimmer Fredette and the BYU Cougars clearly have issues that need to be corrected following their embarrassing loss to the San Diego State Aztecs.

Without Brandon Davies, the Cougars couldn?t rebound the ball at all. The Aztecs controlled the tempo of the game and only had to focus on stopping Fredette, who averages over 28 points and four assists per game. The superstar Cougar amassed 30 points, six rebounds and two assists in the contest, but it didn?t matter in the grand scheme of things.

San Diego State senior Billy White had this to say about the victory over BYU, ?We took advantage of that and crashed the boards, just played San Diego State basketball. We knew if we just tried to contain Jimmer and tried to make everybody else shoot, we knew that we had the game.?

The blueprint is now out on BYU. They can let Jimmer try to take over the game all he wants, as long as the opposition controls the boards and the tempo, the Cougars are done.

It will be up to leading rebounder Tim Johnson to crash the boards. The forward averages over eight rebounds per game, but will be looked upon to bring down double-digit boards. Wofford might be able to counter Jimmer?s immense offensive production, as they have forward Noah Dahlman, who averages 20 points and 5.5 rebounds, and guard Cameron Rundles, who averages 14 points per contest.

In this Lynn DeBruin report, ?We had a great year this year and the selection committee saw that and wanted to reward us for that,? point guard Jimmer Fredette said of playing fairly close to home. ?This is the highest seed since I?ve been here and we have a good opportunity to do some things in the tournament with our talent and the confidence we have. I look forward to going out with a bang in my senior year.?

Yeah, you can certainly go out on a bang, Jimmer, a big bang.

As long as the Wofford Terriers crashes the boards, meets their offensive averages, BYU could be in for a monster upset in the second round without Brandon Davies. I know I have the Cougars losing to Wofford!

Hey, even if Wofford somehow manages to face Pittsburgh in the tournament, Jay Bilas is buying the upset according to his Twitter account, ?When in doubt, go with the tougher mascot. No way a Terrier beats a Panther.?
