Frenz of the Family: Links to the Best in AFC East Coverage, Weekend Edition

Have a good weekend, everyone! Here are some links to keep you occupied while I enjoy some time away from the blog.

New England Patriots

Jeff Howe of NESN.com notes that the Patriots have picked up a large quantity of free agents who come from losing teams.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss details an ESPN Insider piece by Matt Williamson which asks whether the Patriots defense has upgraded this offseason. I think it's interesting that Williamson draws a connection between Charles Woodson and Devin McCourty, a connection which was drawn here on the blog yesterday.

New York Jets

B/R featured columnist Gary Davenport writes about some schemes in which Tony Sparano can use Tim Tebow, namely the "bait and switch."

In terms of defensive schemes, Quinton Coples already feels like he's making progress and learning, while Rex Ryan is quick to remind reporters that he has a long way to go.

Miami Dolphins

If you thought there was no way Ryan Tannehill would be the Dolphins' starting quarterback in 2012, you may be in for a surprise. According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, Tannehill estimates 65-70 percent of the playbook is "exactly the same" as it was at Texas A&M, while 10-15 percent on top of that is "familiar" to him.

One of my favorite Dolphins writers for his colorful approach to his team, Chris Joseph of FinsNation has a two-part series on the Dolphins draft up. Here's part one, and here's part two. Some language may not be suitable for all readers.

Buffalo Bills

With Drayton Florence being released on Friday, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News has his thoughts on how the battle for roster spots at cornerback could shape up.

In that vein, B/R Bills featured columnist Robert Quinn has an early look at the battle at offensive tackle. This year's training camp should be a competitive one across the board for the Bills.
