Chelsea Won Today's FA Cup Final Thanks To This Brilliant And Controversial Save

In a tournament that started with 763 clubs, Chelsea was the last one standing when they defeated Liverpool today 2-1 in the 2012 FA Cup Final. It was Chelsea's seventh FA Cup title, and their fourth FA Cup in the last six years.

But things might have turned out different if not for one gorgeous game-saving save by Petr Cech in the 82nd minute.

Liverpool's Andy Carroll took a crossing pass and seemingly headed the ball past the line. But it was ruled a no-goal. And replays appeared to show that the ball did not completely cross the line.

However, a closer look appears to show that the goal is leaning backwards slightly giving the appearance that the ball is still in line with the crossbar, but not necessarily in line with the end-line.

Here's the video showing just how close Liverpool came to tying the match at the end. The replay comes at the 0:26 mark (via Fox Soccer)...
