A Canadian hang-gliding expert is in police custody for allegedly swallowing a memory card full of evidence after one of his passengers died in an accident on Saturday, the Globe and Mail reports.
The pilot, William Orders, was in a tandem flight with 27-year-old Lenami Godinez-Avila in British Columbia when she fell out of her harness and died.
Orders runs a website called Vancouver Hang Gliding and has 16-years of experience.
Godinez-Avila's boyfriend was waiting his turn to fly when the accident happened.
Orders was charged with obstructing justice, and will have to remain in custody until he passes the memory chip, which an X-ray confirmed is still in his body.
The whole thing is tragic and bizarre.
