Eli Manning appears to be a shy, low-key type of guy on the field, yet in his appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live this past Saturday, Manning's performance was a pleasant surprise.
Whether it was the Brett Favre texting skit or as a revenge expert with "Little Brothers," Manning's appearance on SNL was an outright hilarious one. No question about it.
Yet as Manning has and seemingly always will be in the shadows of his brother Peyton, again Peyton has outdone Eli on the national spotlight.
Peyton made his SNL appearance on March 27, 2007, making for a plethora of laughs from start to finish.
From his "300" skit to his teaching kids how to play football, Peyton was undoubtedly a hit that Saturday on the show.
According to The New York Times, in a joking manner, even Justin Tuck was surprised to see that Eli was getting a go at appearing on the show.
“Eli’s on ‘Saturday Night Live’? Why’d they do that?” Justin Tuck said."
Not to mention those critiquing on IMDB gave Peyton's performance an impressive average of a 7.6 rating.
Eli Manning is great quarterback and comes from a family that knows how to joke around to say the least. Yet there is no question Eli did not live up to the hype of brother Peyton, in spite of putting forth a solid SNL performance.
