Tito Ortiz has just shocked the world, ladies and gentlemen.
People have been saying that Tito is washed up since his loss to Lyoto Machida three years ago.
Before UFC 132, Tito had not won a fight in five long years.
UFC President Dana White had gone on record saying that Ortiz needed to win against Ran Bader, or he would be cut from the UFC. Dana also said that Tito is the kind of fighter who fights best with his back against the wall.
Tonight, we learned that the UFC president was not joking about that.
Almost everyone was counting Tito out in this fight with the much younger Ryan Bader.
Everyone said that Bader would be too powerful for Tito and that he would cruise to a victory of The Huntington Beach Bad Boy.
Ortiz picked up the third submission victory of his long career, catching Bader in a guillotine choke after dropping the younger competitor with a big right hand.
The entire stadium erupted when Ortiz landed the right hand and was left in awe when Bader tapped to the choke.
Tonight, Tito Ortiz pulled off arguably the biggest upset of the year and showed fans that he can still hold his own in arguably the most stacked division in the UFC.
Ortiz was ecstatic about his victory and it seemed like five years of built up frustration was lifted from his shoulders.
The Huntington Beach Bad Boy will keep his job in the UFC and is looking to make a run for the light heavyweight title.
He has a long way to go if he wants a title shot, but tonight was a huge step in the right direction.
