Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Wenger Wants McCarthy, Youngsters on the Move and More

Fresh after securing a 2-1 victory over German outfit FC Cologne in a routine preseason friendly. Arsenal are right back in the thick of the summer transfer window speculation with a number of rumours surfacing.

The Gunners have commanded the predominant array of transfer news this summer, particularly due to the uncertainty over the futures of several key players including captain Cesc Fabregas and play maker Samir Nasri.

Despite boasting an increased transfer budget and the heavy burden of six seasons without Arsenal silverware, manager Arsene Wenger has only managed one summer signing in the form of Ivorian striker Gervinho, who arrived from OSC Lille for £10.5 million.

Fortunately, the 25-year-old—who was integral to Lille achieving their first Ligue 1 title in 57 years, alongside the Coupe de France with his 53 appearances, 18 goals and 10 assists—has conveyed his ability with the two goals against FC Cologne.

However, the Arsenal faithful are eager to see more changes implemented, particularly as it appears some departures are arisen. Many are stating this will be Wenger's last season should the Gunners fail to find success, and the Frenchman is likely to sign in the coming weeks.

Nonetheless, Bleacher Report establishes the biggest rumours associated with the North London giants.
