MMA legend Dan Henderson picked up the biggest win of his career when he knocked out another MMA legend in Fedor Emelianenko in the very first round of their fight. It was the main event on tonight's Strikeforce card and was contested in the heavyweight division.
Henderson improves to 28-8 with 13 knockouts. His accomplishments in MMA include being the Pride Welterweight and Middleweight Champion as well as being the current Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion. This is arguably his most satisfying victory.
Emelianenko falls to 31-4 with three consecutive defeats. His previous two losses were to Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva and Fabricio Werdum. He didn't make it the distance with any of them, losing by submission to Werdum and TKO to Silva. He made a career out of being arguably the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time. He was the longest reigning Pride Heavyweight Champion and went undefeated for over 10 years.
Henderson has won his last three bouts, including his Strikeforce championship bout where he defeated Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante.
This was the last fight on Henderson's Strikeforce contract. It's not sure whether or not he will stick around in the organization but Henderson did mention defending his belt in Strikeforce in the post-fight interview.
