NBA Rumors: Timberwolves Set to Interview 2 Coaches Least Suited for Job

The dysfunctional Minnesota Timberwolves are looking for a coach...beware!

The team with the worst record during the 2010-2011 is fresh of off completely humiliating ex-coach Kurt Rambis.

Multiple reports came out that the coach of the last two seasons was going to be fired. This juuuuust so happened to be a day before the NBA Draft.

GM David Kahn ignored the reports and said his head coach shouldn't worry. Regardless, Rambis worked the draft war room with an incredibly large elephant in the room.

Now three weeks later he was finally fired and the coaching search began. Two candidates have already emerged and both plan on speaking with the franchise in the next week.

Both options stink.

The first one is former Houston Rockets head coach Rick Adelman.

He has been around for seemingly forever and certainly knows how to coach in this league. His Sacramento Kings were robbed by the refs in the 2000 Western Conference Finals against the LA Lakers.

Do you think the 65-year old really has the patience to deal with the aches and pains of rookies Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams?

Do you think he wants to watch the T-Wolves slug through a season of growing pains only to go thorough it again the following year?

Minnesota needs a younger voice around them and one that can connect with the young, and very important players on the team.

Which is why the second option is even worse.

Don Nelson, the 71-year old that has been all around the league, will be speaking with the Timberwolves as well.

He does fit the style of what Kahn wants, a fast paced, uptempo bunch that is fun to watch. Having Rubio and Williams around certainly makes that appealing.

Yet it's hard to forget the wacky rotations and questionable benching's the former Golden State Warriors executed in his last year in the Bay Area.

The T-Wolves will be one of the youngest teams in the league next year and need a guy closer to their own age. How in the world could Adelman relate with Michael Beasely with any sort of subject? How can he motivate the diva for a full 82 games?

Looking at young assistants or a coach with previous head coaching experience like Lawrence Frank is the route to go.

No need to bring in an old guy that will be yelling at deaf ears.
