Shelley Out A Month

via the Flyers PR department, The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that left wing Jody Shelley will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair a fractured orbital bone on the left side of his face, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Shelley was injured at practice on Monday when a puck struck him below the left eye.  The surgery will be performed by Dr. Guy Lanzi and will sideline Shelley for four weeks.



The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have recalled D Danny Syvret from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.  Syvret will wear #26.

Syvret, 25 (6/13/85), has posted nine goals and 22 assists for 31 points in 45 games for the Phantoms this season since being acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks on November 21st.  He signed as a free agent with Anaheim in the offseason and appeared in six games for the Ducks this year, recording a goal and an assist, and also had four assists in eight games for Anaheim?s AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
