Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News: Leandro Damiao on His Way to White Hart Lane?

Leandro Damiao could be making a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the summer transfer window.

His current club Internacional have recently signed Diego Forlan from Inter Milan, opening the door for Tottenham to make another bid for the Brazilian striker, who is seemingly open for transfer given the recent acquisition of Forlan.

According to Mirror Football, Tottenham have already made two bids of the 22-year-old, believed to be in the vicinity of £12 million, but will once again try their luck for Damiao.

The news comes as another Internacional player, Oscar, confirmed that Tottenham have shown an interest in him and that Andre Villas-Boas has tried to lure the midfielder to White Hart Lane.

I don't know what might happen; I'm not thinking of it right now. It's not only Tottenham who want me—offers always come for me, Damiao and whoever is showing up.

Tottenham have been very productive in the transfer window so far—securing current winger Gareth Bale on a new four-year deal, as well as bringing in Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim and Jan Vertonghen from Ajax.

And should their current pursuit of Damiao fail to produce anything, the North London club still have plenty of other attacking options to focus on, including Emmanuel Adebayor and Robert Lewandowski.

Adebayor spent last season on loan at Spurs from Manchester City, and it is believed the Premier League champions are trying to sell the striker over the transfer window—potentially to make room for Arsenal want-away Robin van Persie.

Even if they don't land Van Persie, City still have the likes of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli in their squad, meaning Adebayor is unlikely to see a high amount of minutes on the pitch at the Etihad.

Goal.com reports Spurs are closing in on a deal for Adebayor believed to be around £5 million, though they are unlikely to match the striker's current per-game salary at Manchester City.

Should that option also fall through, Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is also being linked with a move to the club over the transfer window, according to the Sunday Times (via Metro).

Robert Lewandowski is at the centre of a transfer battle between Chelsea and Spurs, as the London clubs look to add to their forward options.

New Spurs Andre Villas-Boas is hoping to disrupt the club's plans and ask the White Hart Lane board to sign the 23-year old.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has apparently accepted the recommendation and made an initial approach for Lewandowski.

Lewandowski could be a stretch for Spurs—or any club, really—after the chief executive officer and general manager of the Dortmund have both denied rumors they will be selling their star striker over the transfer window.

The German champions have already sold Shinji Kagawa to Manchester United and are therefore highly unlikely to part with their next biggest star, particularly with rivals Bayern Munich strengthening their squad over the transfer window.
