NFC South Morning Jog: Brees, Saints Haggle but Deal Will Get Done by July 16

Each morning, I like to start the day off with a workout—usually a morning jog. I can clear my head, plan my day, and think about what’s going on around the NFC South.

New Orleans Saints

Brodrick Bunkley is No. 16 on the top 25 New Orleans Saints list from the Times-Picayune.

Pierre Thomas wants the Saints backfield to be the best in the NFL. [NewOrleansSaints.com]

Mike Triplett of the Times-Picayune said it "would be stunning" if the Saints and Drew Brees didn't get a long-term deal done by July 16.

Atlanta Falcons

The top 20 lists have started. At Atlanta Field Report, Jacquizz Rodgers was No. 20 and Harry Douglas came in at No. 19.

The guys over at Gritz Blitz argue about which offensive player will benefit most from  the arrival of new offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.

Carolina Panthers

After getting cut by San Diego and prior to signing with Carolina last year, defensive tackle Ogemdi Nwagbuo worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car to make ends meet. [Panthers.com]

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

New quarterback's coach Ron Turner has been really impressed with Josh Freeman thus far. [Pewter Report]

Pro Football Weekly ranked the eight last-place teams from 2011 as they head into the new season. Tampa Bay came in at No. 4.
