San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens: 5 Halftime Adjustments Ravens Must Mak

The Baltimore Ravens find themselves in a tough game against a very talented San Francisco 49ers. With the score still close at 6-3 in favor of San Francisco, this game could still go either way.

Baltimore is playing well on both sides of the ball and has consistently controlled the line of scrimmage. They're also benefiting from a raucous home crowd, that has come out loud and proud for their Ravens.  However, the team needs to make a few key adjustments to break this game open.

Look for John Harbaugh to make a few changes at halftime, and bring his squad out ready to go out and take this victory away from his little brother Jim.

1. Keep the Crowd in the Game

The Ravens have a distinct home-field advantage in this game. The fans are obviously very into this game, and they've been making their presence felt in the first half. Baltimore needs to keep them in the game to put pressure on Alex Smith and the 49ers in third-down situations.

2. Bring the Heat

Baltimore has had quite a bit of success when they rush Alex Smith. He's already been sacked four times, and Haloti Ngata has been getting into the backfield on almost every passing down. The Niners haven't shown they can consistently stop the Ravens' pass rush, so the Ravens might as well keep bringing it.

3. Protect the Ball

This is a game between two teams that match up very well with each other. Both can run the ball effectively and can pass when needed. More importantly, they both have dominant defenses.

This game might come down to a field goal, so it's important for the Ravens to not give the 49ers any extra chances to score.

4. Keep Stretching the Field with Torrey Smith

Torrey Smith has quickly become one of the best deep threats in the game. Smith was able to get a big pass interference call late in the second quarter, but I think he's still got another big play in him. Look for Flacco to try and hit him deep early in the third quarter.

5. Run Ricky, Run

Ricky Williams needs to get more carries, like a lot more. Why you ask?

Ray Rice is starting against me in fantasy football and I really need to win this week, that's why. In all seriousness though, the Ravens need to keep feeding Rice the ball. He's a great back and, if he gets the ball, Rice could bring them a "W".
