Carl Pavano, Twins 'Making Progess' Toward Deal

The Twins and Carl Pavano are "making solid progress" toward a new contract, a major league source confirmed to FanHouse.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports first reported that the sides were closing in on a two-year deal.

Pavano, who turns 35 on Saturday, is the top remaining pitcher on the free-agent market. Since going to Minnesota in August 2009, Pavano has gone 22-15 with a 3.97 ERA.
