Carl Crawford sure has to be happy after Jayson Werth signing sent the market value for a player of his skill through the roof.
The Boston Red Sox were one of the teams thought to have been in the market for Crawford and then the Red Sox went and traded for Adrian Gonzalez. That has taken one suitor for Crawford out of the running according to the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo.
"I think they want a right-handed hitter after signing Adrian," Cafardo told NESN. "I think he [Crawford] fits a little bit less than what he would have fit had they not signed Adrian ? Hard to say no to a guy like that if the price is right but I really don't think he'll be a Red Sox."
