For years, Bryan Danielson and Kaval (then known as Low Ki) were known as two of the best performers on the independent wrestling circuit. People from all around the world raved about the matches that these guys would produce.
Surprisingly, both guys made it to WWE. Danielson got promoted to the main roster thanks to the Nexus storyline, while Kaval was selected as the NXT winner of season two.
While they both ended up on the main roster, very few knowledgeable fans believed that Vince McMahon would actually give them strong pushes. The blindly loyal WWE fans might have predicted greatness for them, but the more informed fans were doubtful that McMahon would give them what they deserve.
That proved to be the case for Kaval.
On Thursday, Kaval was released. WWE decided to let him go, since they felt that he didn't have much momentum going for him. The writers simply did not deem him to be important enough to provide compelling stories and feuds for the New York native.
It's natural to wonder if Danielson is going to be in the same boat.
As of right now, Danielson appears to be safe. He currently holds the US title and the writers really don't have a storyline for him to drop the belt to another person on the Raw mid-card. Generally, the belt is ignored as the creative department focuses all of their energy on building towards Wrestlemania.
There's no guarantee, though, that Danielson is going to last until then.
