NFL Picks Week 16: Unlikely Playoff Hopefuls Clash as Seattle Battles Tampa Bay

Why Seattle Could Win: The Seahawks have been overachieving all season, as their team lacks any real talent at key offensive skill positions. The defense hasn't been much better, ranking fourth worst in the NFL in total yards allowed. Still, in a weak NFC West, they are currently tied for first place at 6-8. Matt Hasselbeck has been atrocious this season, throwing just 12 touchdowns to a whopping 17 interceptions while taking 29 sacks and losing five fumbles. If Seattle hopes to have any shot at winning, they will need a fare more cautious game from their field general.

Why Tampa Bay Could Win: At 8-6, the Buccaneers still have an outside chance at making the playoffs despite incredibly low expectations coming into the season. Raheem Morris compares favorably to some of the best coaches in the league, and has his team playing at a very high level right now. Josh Freeman has shown significant improvement and both Mike Williams and LeGarrette Blount have emerged from seemingly nowhere to provide explosive and dynamic offensive weapons. Add in a secondary that ranks fifth in interceptions and you have a winning formula.

Prediction: 26-13 Tampa Bay.
