The UCLA Bruins are getting decked by the Oregon Ducks in the inaugural Pac-12 Championship Game, both figuratively and literally.
Much-maligned and oft-injured quarterback Kevin Prince can speak to that first-hand after hitting the turf hard at Autzen Stadium in the second quarter.
Prince has been subjected to bone- and soul-crushing blitzes throughout his time in Westwood, though I can't imagine taking hits like this one ever...gets...any...easier.
Especially not with an unlikely Rose Bowl berth on the line.
As much as the Bruins will look to console Rick Neuheisel after the game—his last as the head coach of the Blue and Gold—they may want to first offer their apologies to Prince and their condolences to the thousands of brain cells that bit the dust as a result of this particular blow.
It's no wonder, then, that Prince so often appears to be without his wits when he's on the football field—because he's had them all knocked out of him.
Another blowout loss, like the one UCLA suffered against archrival USC last weekend, would serve as just another insult to the latest near-injury to befall the pugilistic Prince, who too often has been left with about as much protection in the pocket as a pauper from the winter cold.
