2011 Bowl Predictions: Arkansas and 3 Teams That Will Dominate

It's bowl time in college football, as this season's bowl games are set to be arguably some of the best matchups of the season.

Yet others—for instance, the matchup in the AT&T Cotton Bowl—will have teams dominating from the opening kickoff.

The No. 6 Arkansas Razorbacks are destined to take down No. 8 Kansas State easily in the Cotton Bowl. It is a game that the Razorbacks are expected to and will run away with despite the success of the Wildcats this season.

These are the Razorbacks and the three teams will outright dominate in their bowl games.

No. 6 Arkansas Razorbacks over  No. 8 Kansas State Wildcats, AT&T Cotton Bowl

The Wildcats have the misfortune of playing the 11-2 Arkansas Razorbacks, a team that is arguably the third-best team in all of college football.

The only two losses the team has suffered have come at the hands of No. 3 Alabama and No. 1 LSU; those two teams happen be the two playing in the BCS national title game.

This season Arkansas has won three games against the Top 15, boasting a record of 3-2 against ranked opponents. The team has wins over No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 15 Auburn and No. 9 South Carolina.

Kansas State has put together a quality season, the school's best season since 2003. The Wildcats have lost their last two of its last three games against ranked opponents, dropping games to No. 9 Oklahoma and No. 3 Oklahoma State in a tough road contest.

The Razorbacks are also a balanced football team, ranking No. 15 in points per game and No. 37 in points allowed.

Based on the difficulty of each team's schedule and the dominance on both sides of the football Arkansas has shown all season long, there is no question the Razorbacks run away with this game.

No. 10 Wisconsin Badgers over No. 5 Oregon Ducks, Rose Bowl

LaMichael James and the Oregon Ducks will find themselves heading for the gates, as the 11-2 Badgers have been red-hot since the back-to-back losses suffered at the midway point of the season.

The Ducks boast one of the better offenses in all of football, led by the special play of running back James.

Yet the Ducks are a shaky defensive unit at best, giving up roughly 24 points per game. In its last four games, the Ducks defense has given up at least 30 points. The teams during this span included a 31-point game allowed to UCLA—a team that ranks No. 85 in points per game and stood at 6-6 prior to the contest.

The Badgers, meanwhile, may be the most well-rounded team in the nation. Offensively, the team averages a fourth-best 44.6 points per game. On the defensive end, the Badgers are especially consistent, allowing just 17.6 points per contest.

Expect the Badgers to come out swinging early, as their momentum from four straight wins over top-notch teams will be apparent in this one.

No. 13 Michigan Wolverines over No. 11 Virginia Tech, Sugar Bowl

Despite a big win late this season over No. 22 Georgia Tech, the Hokies have not proven they are capable of beating a team as talented as Michigan is.

Michigan boasts a three-game win streak at the moment, beating Illinois on the road, No. 16 Nebraska in a blowout fashion and topping Ohio State to close out the season.

The Wolverines, much like the Badgers, have solid success on both sides of the football. The defense allows the seventh-fewest points per game and the offense is ranked No. 23 in the nation.

As Virginia Tech has failed to beat the tougher opponents on their schedule—topped off with the fact that Michigan has been on a roll as of late—and it is apparent that the Wolverines will give Virginia Tech a game to forget.
