Georges St-Pierre Retains Title as Canadians Win Six of Ten Fights

Bleacher Report's Dwight Wakabayashi:

I waited a long time for last night, 19 years to be exact. When it all came down and the dust settled I was not disappointed in the least. I soaked in all that was the show of UFC 129 in Toronto, and watched our Canadian Mixed Martial Artist kick absolute ass in the entire extravagant process.

Where to begin in the breakdown of what went on at last night's fight card at the Rogers Center? I'll try to break it down:

The Building

Was decked out and set up beautifully visually, The way they set up the big screens, floor seats, and different floor booths was excellent and the ring was smack dab in the middle of it all so that all sides were equally served.

The Crowd

The crowd was rowdy and loud all night long. They were also extremely educated o every aspect of the sport. Cheering and roaring at every appropriate exchange in the cage, and respect was shown to each and every fighter on the card. There was booing yes, but it was only in the national Canada vs. type of way. Pablo Garza was cheered loud for his sick flying triangle on Yves Jabouin and Lyoto Machida was also cheered loud by the naturally pro Couture fans for his amazing flying front kick stoppage.
