Jim Tressel Resigns, Columbus Dispatch Reporting Luke Fickell Will Be Interim Head Coach
Now that Jim Tressel has stepped down as head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the team is already moving forward with assistant coach Luke Fickell at the helm.
The Buckeyes made it clear that Fickell would be their coach during Tressel five game suspension to start the 2011 season and that he would be a strong candidate moving forward.
Now that Tressel has resigned, the Ohio State upper brass has made the quick decision to stick with Fickell for at least the rest of the 2011 season.

The Columbus Dispatch is reporting:
Sources said assistant coach Luke Fickell, who had been named to coach the first five games of the season while Tressel served his suspension for withholding information from the university compliance office and the NCAA, will serve as interim coach of the Buckeyes all of next season.
If I were in charge of Ohio State at this point, I wouldn?t be looking to bring in a coach like Urban Meyer because the sanctions that the NCAA will hand down will make no coach want to come there until the sanctions are lifted.
Ohio State needs to go out and find a young coach with potential that isn?t surrounded by a cloud of suspicion. Fickell could be a great coach in the long run, but he was too closely associated with the whole Tressel discrepancies.
