Tiger Woods shot a 2-under 69 in the final round today to win the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club, finishing 8-under, two strokes ahead of Bo Van Pelt.
Is Tiger back? Well, that depends on your definition of "back." Tiger still hasn't won a major since 2008, and he doesn't lap the field like he did in his prime. But the win was Tiger's third this season, more than anybody else on the PGA Tour. The victory also vaulted Tiger to the top of the FedEx Cup standings, despite playing in fewer tournaments (11) than everybody else in the top five.
Tiger may never be as great he once was. But Tiger was so good, that even a fraction of his former self is still better than everybody else.
