I was reading an article about Tim Tebow and the New York Jets written by fellow Bleacher Report writer Joe Rapolla Jr. He talks about how the media and the fans will kill off the NFL career of Tim Tebow.
The viewpoints presented in the article are valid but I beg to differ. Tim Tebow is a person who has been underestimated many times when it comes to playing football and getting results.
Tebow and the Jets will have a great football season in spite of the polarization. This article will be based on his accomplishments which have not received publicity along with something special.
Denver Broncos 18-15 over Miami Dolphins October 2011
Who can remember the game between the Denver Broncos and the Miami Dolphins in October 2011? The Broncos almost lost the game but it was Tebow who saved them from humiliation.
Tebow was able to mastermind an eight-play, 80-yard touchdown drive. The end product was a five-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas. The result was that Denver started to close the gap against a Dolphin team that was winning.
The Broncos were without any timeouts and Tebow was able to close the gap further with another touchdown pass. The recipient of the pass was Daniel Fell and it forced the game into overtime.
In overtime, Tebow set up Matt Prader for a field goal which resulted in a victory for the Broncos.
Denver Broncos 2011 AFC West Champions
The Denver Broncos were able to win the 2011 AFC West Championship. The Broncos (along with Tim Tebow) put a lot of effort to arrive at the title.
The Broncos may have lost to the New England Patriots in the playoffs, but the team experienced a complete turnaround after Tebow took over for Kyle Orton.
New York Groove
Ace Frehley once recorded the song "New York Groove" in 1978. Tebow was definitely in the groove last year against the Jets. He had a 95-yard touchdown drive against the Jets on November 2011.
The touchdown was possible even though less than one minute remained on the clock. The style might have been unconventional but it produced results.
The Human Face of Football
At a time when certain athletes make the headlines for drug use and trafficking, Tebow is a decent human being. Tebow helped Adam Hubbs (a teenage child with health problems) by spending time with him.
The encounter happened on the ESPN show called My Wish. After seeing this segment, I cannot understand the unwarranted criticism of Tebow.
Conclusion
The people should forget about the rumors of Tim Tebow with Taylor Swift. There should be less derogatory comments about Tebow and his ability on the football field.
Instead, the New York Jets must sit down and ask of themselves what they want for the next NFL season.
The Jets should unite (fans, players, coaches, owners) with one common goal which is the Super Bowl. The first road to the Super Bowl lies in having a positive attitude instead of harboring destructive criticism, gossip and internal divisions.
I have faith that the New York Jets will be able to overcome their adversity and ultimately succeed with Tim Tebow.
