After shooting a final round 70, Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational by a margin of five shots. It ended a 30-month stretch without a PGA Tour victory for Woods.
The win was bittersweet, however.
Palmer, 82, was unable to present Woods with the trophy like he has done during Woods' six other victories at the same tournament.
According to the Florida Times-Union, Palmer was taken to the hospital about 15 minutes before Woods made his tournament-winning putt.
His blood pressure, which had fluctuated for most of the day possibly because of a change in medicine, was stabilized as soon as he was admitted.
He will remain under observation at least through Monday.
