NFL Free Agency: Teams That Will Regret Their Free-Agent Choices

With the recent free-agent signings that have come in the past few weeks, it isn’t difficult to find NFL teams that will regret their free-agent choices this fall. The Denver Broncos immediately come to mind.

Sure, Peyton Manning is a future Hall of Fame quarterback, but his days as a consistent, show-stopping talent are over. He has battled injury in the past few seasons and will likely fight the battle again. The Indianapolis Colts didn’t re-sign Manning for a reason. I would assume their team doctors had some input into the situation.

Denver may have dumped Tim Tebow for a “real” quarterback, but the move will not prove to be the wisest once the season rolls around. Don’t believe me, just ask televangelist Pat Robertson, he agrees.

Elsewhere in the league, teams are re-signing mistakes and letting crucial guys get away. The Jacksonville Jaguars are really a team that has suffered from the “no wonder you lose all the time” bug.

Jacksonville re-signed Laurent Robinson for five years and $30 million. Really, Jacksonville, great move there. Also, swinging and missing on hometown favorite Tim Tebow is never good for the karma that surrounds the haunted Jacksonville franchise.

Not that Tebow is a great quarterback, but the publicity and leadership that the guy brings would be a major plus for a team that hurts to sell tickets.

Finally, the Miami Dolphins had the worst offseason of any team by leaps and bounds. The fish were unable to lure Peyton Manning, which I personally think is a positive, but they also let star wide receiver Brandon Marshall go.

Did they bring in an answer at quarterback despite whiffing on Manning? Nope. They lost out on an even lesser option when Matt Flynn landed in Seattle.

These three teams have made some questionable decisions in the past, and they continued this offseason. The only hope they hold is that the Cleveland Browns keep making their moves.

The Browns are the one team that will undoubtedly be kicking itself over and over as they failed to secure the St. Louis Rams' draft spot and let Robert Griffin III slip from their fingertips.
