Kentucky Derby Results: Which Horse Has the Best Shot at Winning This Weekend?

Who Will Win the 2011 Kentucky Derby?

The horses were announced yesterday and the odds were set. Since the race is a few days away there are of course subject to change. Right now the favorites to win the 2011 Kentucky Derby are horses named Uncle Mo and Dialed In.

The odds for Unlce Mo are set a 5/2 and Dialed In's odds are set at 4/1. Uncle Mo may be the favorite, but he it's possible he may not race.

The horse had two prep races to get ready for the Kentucky Derby. In his second race Mo got out to a great start, but pulled back and ended up finishing third. It was revealed a few days later he had a gastrointestinal infection.

Uncle Mo is recovering from the illness but did run a bit this week. His owner Mike Repole still thinks he will be race this weekend.

Like I said, it?s 50-50 for Saturday ? not only for Uncle Mo, but for every horse.

However, word in Louisville is that Mo will likely be scratched. ESPN's Pat Forde is very active in his coverage, and he tweeted today that an announcement will be made today or tomorrow.

News of the morning at Churchill: Uncle Mo's status for the race should be decided later today or tomorrow morning, per owner Mike Repole.

Uncle Mo may be one of the favorites, but I would stay away from picking him.
