Alabama Football: 2014 Recruit Bo Scarbrough Commits to the Crimson Tide

Bo Scarbrough, a 6'2", 220-pound running back, committed to Alabama Friday night, according to Tommy Deas of TideSports.com.

He made his decision after his team beat Hillcrest High School, 23-15.

Scarbrough is a junior at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa where he plays running back, wide receiver and outside linebacker. He chose Alabama over Arkansas, Florida, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, UCLA, Michigan and several other top colleges.

He lives just minutes away from Alabama's campus and has made several unofficial visits over the past year. He also attended two of the Crimson Tide's football camps over the summer.

Last year, Scarbrough ran for almost 1,000 yards and had 13 touchdowns before tearing his ACL. Last week was his first game back since the injury last October. The talented running back ran for 214 yards and three touchdowns.

The new Crimson Tide commit is rated a 5-star prospect and ranked the best athlete in the 2014 class by 247Sports.com.

Chris Nee of Rivals.com said of Scarbrough, "He is a thick, physical target who is quick off the line of scrimmage and showed the ability to separate from defenders down the field. He catches the ball cleanly and showed the ability to go up and win balls in the air. He would do fine if he were to make a permanent move to wide receiver."

He is a very strong runner who isn't afraid to run through the middle of the field.

Nick Saban already has 19 commits for the 2013 class. Scarborough is the first verbal commit for Alabama in the 2014 class.
