This weekend's big game in the NFL was without a doubt the marquee match-up between the New England Patriots and the Tim Tebow-led Denver Broncos.
And as a result, Drew Brees' monster day went largely unnoticed.
On Sunday, Brees completed 32 passes for 412 yards, and had nearly as many touchdowns (5) as incompletions (8). In doing so, Brees became the first quarterback in NFL history to have 400 yards passing, at least five touchdowns, with no interceptions, while completing at least 80 percent of his passes.
And with his second 400-yard game of the season, Brees now has 4,780 yards passing, and only needs 305 yards in the final two games to break Dan Marino's record of 5,084 yards in a single season.
This is the second time Brees has challenged the mark. In 2008, Brees finished 15 yards short of Marino's mark.
Brees is about to break a record that has stood for 27 years. But if he isn't wearing number 15 for the Denver Broncos, will anybody notice?
