It’s crunch time for eliminator challenges, and even if you have been knocked out or have a loss, there’s still knowledge to be gained for next year about how this fantasy game tends to play out in the final weeks.
I picked up win No. 14 of the season in my personal entry with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. The Cardinals beat the Browns in OT on a Jay Feely field goal, 20-17.
I also suggested the Dolphins as a pick, they beat the scuffling Bills, 30-23.
In general, though, entries were hit hard in Week 15 as three of the five top selections lost.
The Chicago Bears continued their skid, losing their fourth in a row. The Colts got their first win of the season at the Titans’ expense and the Carolina Panthers took out the Texans in an upset I predicted.
For the season, I stand at 14-1 with a rank of 275 on ESPN’s Eliminator Challenge.
Here are my picks through Week 15:
Week 1: San Diego Chargers
Week 2: New York Giants
Week 3: Dallas Cowboys
Week 4: Green Bay Packers
Week 5: New Orleans Saints

Week 6: Cincinnati Bengals
Week 7: Carolina Panthers
Week 8: Tennessee Titans
Week 9: Houston Texans
Week 10: Baltimore Ravens (loss)
Week 11: San Francisco 49ers
Week 12: Atlanta Falcons
Week 13: New England Patriots
Week 14: Detroit Lions
Week 15: Arizona Cardinals
Most teams are getting a short rest in Week 16 as Christmas falls on a Sunday this year. The regular slate of Sunday games will be played Saturday, on Christmas Eve.
The Texans visit the Colts in the Thursday night game and the Texans are the No. 1 selection of Week 16 thus far. The Colts had a surprising win last week while the Texans lost to Carolina.
I suspect the universe will return to normal on Thursday and the Texans will take care of business.

The New England Patriots are a popular selection as they host the Miami Dolphins. The Pats put a hush on Tebow and the Broncos last week.
Still, I think Miami is dangerous in this one. Matt Moore orchestrates a solid passing attack and the Pats pass D is one of the league’s worst.
The Cardinals and Bengals should be an interesting matchup on Saturday. Surprisingly, the visiting Cardinals are on more entries than the Bengals. The Cardinals are certainly hot, but I think the Bengals are the better team, and they’re at home.
The 49ers are a popular selection as well on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers have an extra short week because of their Week 15 Monday night contest.
Seattle has made a habit out of stunning popular eliminator picks this year with big wins over the Giants and Ravens. However, I’d feel confident in a 49ers pick if I still had them available.
My pick for Week 16 is the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are hosting the 2-12 St. Louis Rams in what should be one of the most lopsided affairs of the weekend.
I’ll certainly keep an eye on the injury reports for Ben Roethlisberger. But even if doesn’t play, the Steelers defense and Charlie Batch should be able to do enough to get the W.
Week 16 Selection: Pittsburgh Steelers
Arizona Diamondbacks Atlanta Braves Chicago Cubs Cincinnati Reds Colorado Rockies Florida Marlins
