An NBA Player Paid A Teammate $12,000 For His Uniform Number

Jamal Crawford

Jamal Crawford paid his new Portland Trail Blazers teammate Luke Babbitt $12,000 to wear his No. 11 jersey, the Oregonian reports.

Apparently the negotiations were pretty intense.

“He low-balled me,” Babbitt told the Oregonian. “So I came back with something and we met in the middle.”

Babbitt made out like a bandit in this deal.

Not only did he get a cool $12,000, he didn't even care about his uni number in the first place.

“Besides, I didn’t even like 11. I don’t put a whole lot of stock into the number you wear and a number isn’t worth that much to me. So I’m a happy man."

Crawford signed a two-year, $10-million deal with Portland last week, so he can afford it.
