Tarver vs. Kayode: Tarver's Experience Will Lead to Dominant Victory

Antonio Tarver is almost eligible for the senior citizen's discount but don't expect his old age to prevent him from dominating up-and-comer Lateef Kayode.

Kayode is young (29), undefeated (18-0) and possesses great power, as evidenced by his 14 career knockouts. But he's also raw, and although his opponent is 43 years old, Kayode has never faced a fighter of Tarver's caliber.

Tarver is one of the best fighters of his generation, scoring victories over Glen Johnson and Roy Jones Jr., while also engaging in high-profile bouts against Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson.

Although he lost back-to-back fights against Dawson, he rebounded nicely, beating Nagy Aguilera by unanimous decision and Danny Green by ninth-round knockout.

Now, Tarver is ready to demolish Kayode—the man whom he's criticized while serving as an analyst for Showtime.

When it comes to technical skill and ring awareness, Tarver and Kayode are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm expecting Tarver to take Kayode to school, evading his power punches and countering with a versatile arsenal of strikes.

Tarver should also have the superior conditioning, so as long as he can avoid a devastating Kayode haymaker, he will be able to wear his opponent down during the course of the fight.

As the bout progresses into the later rounds, look for Tarver to separate himself on the scorecards by landing quality punches in mass quantity.

Kayode has a chance to beat Tarver, seeing as how his power can change a fight in an instant. Unfortunately for the young contender, his opponent isn't the type to lose focus.

I'm expecting Tarver to win by unanimous decision.
