There is nothing like an arrest to welcome back the NBA season.
Jerry Buss' son, Jesse Buss, was arrested in Lexington, Kentucky and charged with Alcohol Intoxication, according to WDRB.
"Lexington Police were called to the area of South Broadway and W. Maxwell Street around 3:39 Friday morning for a report of a man laying on the ground."
The report also mentions that Buss was seeking preferential treatment for being Buss' son.
This entitled drunk is supposed to be one of the future leaders of the Lakers? He's 23 and it's understandable that he would party a little and have a good time, but there is no reason the police should have to pick you up off of the ground at 3:39 in the morning.
People in prominent sports positions don't have the luxury of focusing on their family. While the children in these situations don't always turn out to be moronic, clearly, it happens.
Buss is 77. His legacy is complete and rather than pass on everything he has worked on in his life to his idiotic son, why not take on a lesser role and enjoy his family a bit?
This isn't to say that he needs to remove himself from basketball entirely, but this incident makes it clear that his family doesn't need him to be "Jerry Buss, billionaire owner."
Tossing around his dad's name while he was going into the clinker proves that Jesse Buss has no concept of accountability.
Jerry Buss has spent his life building something wonderful in the game of basketball. It's time to take it easy and impart some much-needed wisdom on his son.
