Is Andy Dalton Now the Face of the Cincinnati Bengals Franchise?

Every sports team has a face, that one player who represents and defines his or her entire franchise.

For the New England Patriots, it's Tom Brady: his leadership, his accuracy, his Uggs. For the Baltimore Ravens, it's Ray Lewis and his unmatched ferocity.

So, after losing their two most prolific stars in Chad Ochocinco and Carson Palmer over the offseason, who is the new face of the Cincinnati Bengals?

If you ask me, it has to be rookie quarterback Andy Dalton.

While he's in the midst of just his first NFL season, Dalton defines everything that the new-look Bengals stand for. Not only is he a young, promising leader under center, but he is also a down-to-earth, team-minded player. He's essentially what I like to call "The Anti-Chad."

It's no secret that the Bengals are doing their best to rid themselves of the over-dramatic, undisciplined reputation that has hung over their franchise for years, and Dalton is a key piece in their plan to do so.

In just a matter of months, the rookie gunslinger has become a fan favorite for his big-time playmaking ability, his contributions to the Cincinnati community and, of course, his fiery red hair.

He has led his Bengals to a 7-6 start in what was projected to be one of the franchise's worst seasons ever, and as long as he continues his winning ways, Dalton will be the leading man in Cincy for some time.
