Federer ready to play in Shanghai Masters

Speaking to reporters at a sponsor appearance in Hong Kong, Roger Federer has indicated he will play in next week's Shanghai Masters.

Federer did not play Shanghai last year and, under ATP rules, is allowed to miss one Masters event a year without penalty because he has played more than 600 career matches.

"I practiced extremely hard for the last three weeks," said Federer. "I feel like I am ready to go for the next five."
