Blake ousted by Kubot in opening round of Vienna

VIENNA (AP)?James Blake of the United States lost 6-4, 6-4 to Lukasz Kubot of Poland in the first round of the Bank Austria Trophy on Tuesday.

Kubot broke his seven-match losing streak and set up a match against top-seeded defending champion Jurgen Melzer.

Also, Michael Berrer upset sixth-seeded Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. The 29th-ranked Spaniard, who won in Bangkok and reached the quarterfinals in Tokyo and Shanghai this month, double-faulted 12 times.

Berrer will play Pablo Cuevas, who defeated Thiemo de Bakker 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-4. Santiago Geraldo stopped Xavier Malisse 6-4, 1-6, 6-1.
