After more than 48 hours of captivity, Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos was safely found by Venezuelan authorities late Friday night, the Washington Times reports.
A tweet by reporter Rafael Rojas Cremonesi stated: "VZ Information Minister tweets Ramos has been found safely by authorities at mountains at Carabobo state."
Ramos was by his home by Valencia, Venezuela on Wednesday, when he was kidnapped by four armed gunmen.
Although the kidnappers never contacted the family, it was reported that they did contact the police so authorities knew that he was safe.
Nationals fans gathered by the team's stadium Friday evening to hold a candlelight vigil for Ramos. Many were praying for his safety and hoping that he would be back among us shortly.
Now everybody can breathe a sigh of relief.
