Matt Forte, Bears
Forte got a well-earned week off after combining for almost 700 yards of total offense in the past four games for the Bears. Chicago travels to Philadelphia in Week 9, where the run defense has been somewhat better in the past two games.
The Eagles allowed just 28 yards to Redskins running backs in Week 7 before the Cowboys only attempted nine runs last Sunday. Forte will get the ball enough to hurt the Eagles again on the ground, and his contributions in the passing game always make him a top-flight back.
Michael Turner, Falcons
The struggles in run defense are well-documented for the Colts, and Turner went into his bye week with back-to-back 100-yard games. The Falcons will likely be up early and should ride Turner down the stretch. He's a safe bet to make it over the century mark for the third straight week.
LeSean McCoy, Eagles
The Bears have been stifling against the run over their past two games, as they've held the Buccaneers' and Vikings' running backs to under 70 total yards. Despite that success, it's hard not to like McCoy in this matchup. He's been electric for the Eagles this season, scoring 10 total touchdowns (eight rushing, two receiving) and racking up almost 900 total yards this season.
Fred Jackson, Bills
Has there been a running back more important to his team's success this season than Jackson? He's touched the ball more than 150 total times for almost 1,100 yards in seven games. The Jets, his opponent in Week 9, have been gashed by running backs at times this season. Jackson will surely be their defensive focus, but you can almost count on 100 total yards from him on Sunday.

Frank Gore, 49ers
Gore made it four straight games of 125 yards or more on Sunday, as he carried the ball 31 times for 134 yards and a score against the Browns. It's clear that the 49ers offense still runs through Gore, but the efficiency of quarterback Alex Smith has helped open lanes in the running game. The Redskins have given up 100 yards or more to opposing running backs in three straight games.
Steven Jackson, Rams
After limping through the first quarter of the season, Jackson has come alive for the Rams over the past three games. During that stretch, Jackson has over 300 yards and three scores while also catching four passes a game. The Cardinals have given up eight touchdowns to running backs over their past four games, so expect Jackson to find the end zone on Sunday.
Arian Foster, Texans
We are finally starting to see the consistently dominant version of Foster the past two weeks. He has been over 100 yards in each game, and he also contributed a 100-yard receiving game against the Titans two weeks ago. Only once this season have the Browns given up less than 100 yards to an opposing set of running backs. Foster should be a safe bet this weekend.
LeGarrette Blount, Buccaneers
I understand there is a clear injury issue here, but if Blount can play, his matchup against the Saints is a cozy one. New Orleans has allowed opposing running backs to go over 100 yards in each of the last four games. They've also scored four times. You'll need to monitor if he practices this week, but it's a tasty matchup for Blount if he can go on Sunday.
