According to the Mirror, Arsenal still have a good chance to sign Valencia midfielder Juan Mata after Valencia manager Unai Emery revealed that it is possible that the talented youngster could leave the club. "The possibility exists that Mata will leave the club," said Valencia coach Unai Emery."We want him to stay and Mata has also expressed his desire to stay at Valencia, but at the same time we cannot stop a player who really wants to leave for money or for a bigger club. So, if there is a large financial offer from any club, that is good for both us and him, we will have to let him leave.?
Tottenham and Liverpool have also been linked with the Spanish International but Arsenal are the only club which can offer him Champions League football. Also, Liverpool have already signed Stewart Downing, which makes it highly unlikely that they will pursue another left-sided player. The Gunners have signed Gervinho and are looking for more players in the remainder of the transfer window.
The uncertain future of captain Cesc Fabregas has only added to the desperation of the fans, who want to see Arsene Wenger bring in quality players in the summer in order to end their six year long trophy drought. Mata is a very talented youngster who will certainly improve the quality of the team and also, has a bright future ahead of him.
Arsenal supporters will hope that the Gunners meet Valencia's �23 million valuation for Mata though Arsenal have not made big transfers in the past. However, with Arsenal being the favorites as of now for Mata, fans will hope that Wenger makes a genuine big name signing like Mata.
