Boston Bruins Parade: When Will 2011 Stanley Cup Champs Celebrate?

When Will Their Be a Boston Bruins Parade?

The Boston Bruins surprisingly won the 2011 Stanley Cup. No team had won on the road in the finals series, but the Bruins defied the odds and shut out the Vancouver Canucks 4-0.

The Canucks thought they had this game, but they were unable to defeat Bruins goalie and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Tim Thomas. He earned that trophy by being an unstoppable force for Boston during the finals.

Thomas told reporters the flight home was so much better than all the others. Per Boston.com:

This five-hour flight that wasn?t the case. We had the Stanley Cup on the flight with us and we could truly just relax and enjoy the accomplishment.

Now it's time for the Bruins to celebrate. So when will they be having the traditional championship parade around the city?

According to reports, officials will meet Thursday to discuss the date, time, and route of the Bruins parade.

The parade is likely to take place on either Friday or Saturday. I highly doubt Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs will foot the bill like Mark Cuban is for the Dallas Mavericks parade today. But that isn't a bad thing because Cuban is mega rich and doesn't care to drop money like it's nothing.

Congratulations to the Boston Bruins and their fans for winning the 2011 Stanley Cup. Kudos to Bruins fans for not going crazy like the Canucks fans. According to Boston police, only seven people were arrested after the Bruins won.
