New coach Lundgren pleased with Wawrinka's run

Peter Lundgren, who has been working with Stanislas Wawrinka since July and has previously coached Roger Federer and Marat Safin, is pleased to see his new pupil standing closer to the baseline and taking more chances.

Wawrinka is through to his first Grand Slam quarterfinal after defeating Andy Murray in the third round and then Sam Querrey. He faces Mikhail Youzhny for a place in the semifinals.

"When you work with someone and he implements what you tell him and gets results right away, it's a wonderful feeling," Lundgren told Tages Anzeiger after Wawrinka's win against Murray. "He is much more aggressive, serving better... Before he played too far back. There he's also strong and defends well, but you won't win any matches against top players."
